Post Surgical Rehabilitation

Rehabilitation is often necessary after surgery and should begin as soon as possible after you leave the hospital. Post Surgical Rehabilitation will assist you in regaining your strength, function and flexibility to help you get back on your feet, while also reducing pain and strengthening weak muscles.

Areas of surgeries that most commonly require post-op-care are: Elbow, hip, calf, knee, shoulder and spine. We will create a rehabilitation program specific to your requirements that will boost recovery time.

Dry Needling

Dry Needling can be used to treat various conditions such as back pain, painful scars, headaches, shoulder and neck pain. It is a form of therapy used to treat musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. It is an effective technique for the treatment of muscle pain due to trigger points.

Tempero-mandibular Dysfunction

Pain with chewing can be debilitating. Physiotherapists assess the muscles and movement of your jaw and can relieve oral pain and regain your function. Often we find that muscle spasm is preventing the TMJ from moving. Manual therapy techniques to reduce spasm will help to improve joint alignment and movement, ultimately resulting in less pain!

Breast Feeding Complications

A variety of symptoms present throughout the lactation journey. We use laser, ultrasound, lymph drainage and lactation advice to address breast feeding complications.

Vestibular Rehabilitation

Vestibular rehabilitation therapy involves exercises that help you manage dizziness and balance. Physio can help with vertigo and labyrinthitis.

Sports Massage

Our trained physiotherapist will assess and work over problem areas and will help loosen tight bands and trigger points that can occur because of overuse, weak posture, sport injuries and stress. We use various techniques such as deep tissue massage, remedial sports massage, trigger point therapy, stretching. Some of the benefits include reduction in injury, improved range of motion, performance improvements, boosting of circulatory immune systems, muscle tone and skin quality.

Strapping & Taping

Strapping can limit movement of an injured area as well as provide support. It also helps to prevent re-injury when one returns to a sporting activity. Strapping has also been known to improve co-ordination of movement. The following are different types of strapping techniques: ankle taping, arch support, shoulder and knee strapping.

Stroke Rehabilitation

Stroke Rehabilitation is a very important part of recovering after a stroke. The ultimate goal is to help you relearn skills affected by a stroke and to assist you in regaining independence and improve your quality of life.

There are various therapies that can assist in recovery such as: physical activities like mobility training, range-of-motion therapy etc. The sooner therapy starts, the more it improves your chance of regaining some of your previous level of function. Stroke Rehabilitation often starts as soon as 24 hours after the stroke. The length of rehab varies for each patient.
